[REL] WebTools 2.0

$
0
0

About:

WebTools 2.0 is a collection of utilities to help with the management of your Plex Server. This plugin is not limited to the usual channel interface, instead it utilizes a built in webserver to display a responsive web interface that also works from mobile devices allowing you to manage your Plex Server from any device.

This tool was created by Dagalufh (Frontend) and Dane22 (Backend) with the beta testing from:

  • OttoKerner
  • sa2000
  • trumpy81
  • Xandi92

Currently the tools available are:

  • Logviewer
  • Subtitle Management
  • Unsupported AppStore

Logviewer

...

This tool allows for easy viewing of logs related to Plex and it's plugins via an easy to use web interface. The tool also gives you the ability to download them in a .zip file to easily send to a developer of a specific plugin.

Subtitle Management

...

The purpose of this tool is to give the user a way to manage subtitles that are not downloaded by an agent.

Current features:

  • View subtitle file to make it easy to see witch file it really is.
  • Highlighting the subtitle that is selected as active in Plex for specific Movie or Episode
  • Removal of one or more subtitles. Usage is on your own risk as this will delete files on your hard drive.

Unsupported AppStore (UAS)

...

This tool was originally created by mikedm139 and was one of the most popular plugins in the Plex universe. Now, this is included in WebTools 2.0, giving it an easy to use web interface that allows for quick installation/removal/update of plugins.

For more information, please visit the UnsupportedAppStore thread

Installation

Installation of WebTools is sadly a manual process, so here's what to do:

  • Download WebTools from GitHub, and select the file named WebTools.bundle.zip.
  • Extract it, and make sure, that the extracted directory is named: WebTools.bundle, it must end with .bundle
  • Make sure that inside the extracted directory, is a directory named "Contents", and if not, you might be a directory too low or high, if so, reorganize the folders with their contents.
  • Locate the plug-in folder of your Plex Media Server. For a support article about where that is, look here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202915258-Where-is-the-Plex-Media-Server-data-directory-located-
  • Copy the organised folder from above to the plugin directory

The directory structure should look like this:

Plugins
..|_ WebTools.bundle
....|_ Contents

etc...

Now wait a couple of minutes, and then check in the channels directory to see if you have a channel named WebTools, and If not, then restart the Plex Media Server.

Note:

If your Plex Media Server is running on a QNAP, you can also use the WT Installer

If running Docker, this might be helpful: Plex Docker Help

Usage

To use this plugin, just type http://<Your-PMS-IP>:33400 into your browsers address bar. It's a good idea to bookmark it.

The initial screen will be different depending on your PMS setup:

  • If you are signed in to Plex.tv on your PMS, you use the same credentials here as it authenticates towards Plex.tv
  • If you are not signed in to Plex.tv, and it’s your first launch, you are required to set a password to use when accessing WebTools. This can later be changed from within the tool if you need to. On all the consecutive visits to WebTools you will use that password.

After login you are presented with a list of available tools.

LogViewer

When accessing this tool it loads up the Plex Media Server log. You can then via the drop-down select the log you wish to see.

There are no extra preferences available for this tool.

Subtitle Management

When accessing this tool it fetches a list of available libraries and populates a menu at the top.

By selecting one of the libraries, the tool starts to fetch a set amount of data and present it to you.

If it’s a TV library, you can continue moving down the tree until you hit an episode.

You can then select one or more subtitles for removal.

This tool offers some extra preferences other than the default for WebTools:

  • Number of items per page (TV Shows, Seasons, Episodes, Movies)
  • Hide local subtitles
  • Hide integrated subtitles
  • Show only multiple subtitles/language
  • Show debug in logs

Unsupported AppStore

See separate thread about usage for this over here.

 Version history below:

2016-01-14: Version 2.0

  • New modules, LogViewer and Unsupported Appstore
  • New design on the interface
  • Increased speed

2015-10-25: Version 1.1

  • Fixed an error reported by stripy007 on Plex Forums regarding languages and flags. Removed the flags, now displaying correct languagename instead. If lanugage name is too long, it will be shortned and shown via tooltip instead.

2015-10-11: Version 1.0

  • A completly new interface. It's quicker and more fresh looking. Also, a begining of a multitool support.

2014-11-01: Version 0.0.0.14

  • Corrected viewing of subtitles (The "View" link)

Suddenly, none of my plex unsupported channels will deliver media. When I choose a movie to watch, i get a channel not responding message. This goes for all unsupported channels. Im signed in to my account. Strong wifi signal. Nothing changed. Never had a problem until now.

Some video channels have stopped working

Comedy Central says unable to play any show that I chose. FOX says something about AES description not supported in premium version. Nick Jr says there is a problem playing this item for everything, PBS Kids says Cannot load M3U8. Cross domain access denied. Spotify2 github
v0.5.8 - 29/12/2014 3:27:32 p.m. NZDT
Spotify2.bundle.png?label=Ready

This is a rebuild of the official Spotify plugin using spotify.py, the plugin
is still in fairly early stages of development so you might notice some slowness
while I sort out a few performance issues.

Premium (required)
Usage of the Spotify API is only available for Premium accounts, to comply with these
rules the same restrictions are in place on this plugin.

Node.js (required)
Node.js is currently required for Spotify client verification checks. I'm looking into
other options that we can bundle into the plugin, so this might change in the future.

We use PyExecJS for javascript execution, so Windows and OS X users might
be able to get it working without node.js

Installation
UnSupported Appstore (recommended)
The latest stable release of the plugin is available via the UnSupported Appstore,
this is the recommended method as it will automatically update to ensure you are
always on the best version.

Manual
If you would rather install the plugin manually, you can install the plugin by following
these instructions.

Download (pick one of these branches)Install
Extract the downloaded zip file and move the Spotify2.bundle folder to your Plug-ins
folder, look here https://plexapp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201106098-How-do-I-find-the-Plug-Ins-folder- for details on how to find the
Plug-ins folder on your system.

Support
Clients
The following clients are known to stream well, clients not listed here haven't been
tested by me but will likely still work.
Plex
 - Plex Home Theater
 - Plex/Web
 - Plex (for Android)
 - Plex (for Chromecast)

 DLNA
 - XBMC
 - foobar2000 (foo_upnp)
 - Sony Bravia TV (2012)
Please let me know if a client doesn't work or tracks load slowly, in some cases I might
be able to get it working, it really depends on how the client is built though.

Remote streaming
Remote streaming would require port 12555 to be port-forwarded, but this wouldn't
be recommended as this endpoint doesn't require any authentication yet, so anyone
would be able to stream a track off your server.

Any chance of a Tidal channel to support streaming from Tidal?

ABC on ATV4?

Is anyone else having issues with playing anything on the ABC channel using direct play? Turning off direct play to transcode will play but the quality is poor even with the highest transcoding quality enabled on very capable hardware. ABC is the only major channel I use that has this issue. It doesn't seem to be A PMS issue as direct play works great on the Roku client.

Plex Podcast Channel

$

Why was the Plex Podcast channel abandoned? Maybe that's not the right word, and don't get me wrong, I enjoy reading the blog posts on the Plex.tv site but I really enjoyed the podcast audio files too (all three of them). Is it a matter or time (or lack there of)?

I would love to see this become active, it never really took off and I feel it would be well received if done correctly. I also subscribe to the Plex YouTube channel, there isn't much activity on there either. I would never tell you how to run your company and I really think these forums are the best of any that I visit, so bravo there! I think your missing a great niche with your YouTube channel though, instead of posting what looks like commercials (when there are new videos) you should have commonly asked questions and common issue instruction videos. I like the videos you post but I find myself searching for videos that go through step by step instructions ( sometimes, I don't have a lot of issues but like watching to make sure I'm doing things the best way possible)

There is a channel on YT called "Bite My Bytes" that posts videos about Plex often, he does a great job but I would like to see you doing it. I just love you guys so much, I want all the information I could get, ha. That's my two cents, hope to see the Podcasts/YouTube channel actively posting soon.

HelloHue for Plex and Philips Hue

Sync and control your Philips Hue lights with Plex!

Credits
This Channel is based on PlexWink by @vanstinator.

Behavior

This channel detects when a media is playing, paused or stopped on your Plex Clients. Then it checks if it's a video, the client name, and the user who owns the stream. If it matches your criteria it triggers your lights with the actions you have set up.
You can also turn your lights on and off inside the channel.

Configuration

The config is pretty simple and only needs to be done once. Configure your settings following the details below.
One room is composed of one client, one or multiple users and one or multiple lights, as well as the actions : on play, on stop, on pause, dim value, and only trigger if it's dark outside.

  • Plex.tv login is your Plex login.
  • Plex.tv passwords is your Plex password. It is only sent to plex.tv to get an identification token (so you must have a working internet access).
  • Plex Server Address is the local adress to reach your server.
  • Philips Hue Bridge Address is the ip address of your Philips Bridge.
  • Nearest city from your location Used to calculate to calculate sunrise/sunset hours at your location.
  • Activate HelloHue in room 1 Tick to activate room 1 (and fill the client, users and lights settings for room 1).
  • Name of plex client able to trigger in room 1 You can find the list of users in PMS -> settings -> devices. Only put ONE client per room. If your have two clients in the same room, activate an other room and fill the settings with the other clients name and the same lights names.
  • Name of the users able to trigger in room 1 You can find the list of users in PMS -> settings -> users -> myhome. You can put multiple users (comma separated values, case sensitive).
  • Name of the lights to trigger in room 1 is the list of lights that will be triggered in room 1. You can put multiple users (comma separated values, case sensitive).
  • When a media is playing in room 1 is the action that will fire when a media is playing in room 1.
  • When a media is paused in room 1 is the action that will fire when a media is paused in room 1.
  • When a media is stopped in room 1 is the action that will fire when a media is stopped in room 1.
  • Choose dim value in room 1 is the value your lights will dim to. (20 is the min brightness and 240 is max)
  • Randomize hue and saturation on Dim/Turn On in room 1 will randomize your light color each time the action turn on or dim is fired.
  • Only trigger lights if it's dark outside in room 1 Tick to only trigger your lights between sunrise and sunset.
  • Activate HelloHue in room 2 Same thing as Activate HelloHue in room 1 ...
  • ...

Usage

How to install:

  • go to Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/
  • If existing, delete HelloHue.bundle
  • get the release you want from https://github.com/ledge74/HelloHue/releases
  • unzip the release
  • restart your plex media server!!!
  • more indepth: see article on Plex website.

On first run:

  1. Configure your Channel preferences (see above for help, make sure that you are connected to the internet as the channel will request a token from plex.tv)
  2. Go to the channel (on any device)
  3. If you see, Press button and your bridge and click to connect click on this menu AFTER having pressed the physical button of your bridge.
  4. The click on Advanced --> Restart HelloHue
  5. If you see the menu My Lights then you are all good!
  6. Enjoy :)

Use the channel:

  • My Lights allows you to trigger your lights from the channel
  • Enable HelloHue disable the channel (stop listening to items being played)
  • Disable HelloHue resumes the channel (start listening to items being played)
  • Advanced --> ```Restart HelloHue`` takes into account your new Plex.TV login/password if you updated it in the channel settings.

How to report a bug and ask for features

If you have a problem with this channel, raise an issue on GitHub or on this topic. Don't forget to add a Log file of this channel : https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200250417-Plex-Media-Server-Log-Files

Known issues

  • When stopping a media on PHT (for mac), the action will take some time (a few minutes). This is linked to a bug in PHT or PMS. --> use OpenPHT to fix this issue
  • HelloHue doesn't work with PlexBMC

I've developed HelloHue on my free time, so if you like it please think about buying me a beer!

Channels help

I'm on XP and using 0.9.9.14, the last version that supports my OS.

I have a few channels installed, none EXCEPT NFL Network are working. I will always get a message that says "Channel not responding." Same results whether I use Firefox or Chrome. I don't even want to try IE8.

Is it XP or the fact that I'm using an old version of the software or something else?

NextPVR Channel - stream live TV to Plex from NextPVR

Just wanted to throw this out there to those who are interested. This plugin allows you to stream live TV from NextPVR - it's based on some of the code psyciknz wrote for NextPVR-Plex but mine only streams live TV. plex-npvr can handle subchannels (4.1,4.2, etc...) and the ability to have broadcaster logos displayed on the channel listing.

See GitHub for more info:

Tablo Channel Issues on SamsungTVs

$

I apologize if this is not in the proper place. I couldn't find a support thread for the Tablo channel.

Just got my Tablo DVR and it's up and running great. Added the Tablo channel to my Plex server without issue. Launched Plex on my TV, selected the Tablo channel, it found my Tablo DVR just fine, I can see the recordings and such on it. However when I select a recording to watch I get an error indicating an incompatible media format. When I try to use the channel through the Plex web interface from my Mac or Windows machine I can play the content without issue.

My Tablo DVR is running the latest firmware which is 2.2.8 I believe.

Any suggestions?

HDHRviewer plugin channel having issues all of a sudden

$

0

I was really enjoying this plugin as it was the only way I have been able to watch "LiveTV" on my Nokia 822 Windows phone and I love that Plex continually updates the Windows phone app since it seems like nobody else does. It sees my HDHomerun Prime, but it says "The VIdeo failed to Play" everytime I choose a channel on my Windows 8.1 phone. I thought that was the only issue but I tried watching livetv through this plugin trough a browser like firefox and through the chrome plugin and it either plays sound with no audio or just spins its wheels. The only place where HDHRViewer is not giving me trouble is through my Roku boxes at home. I hadn't any issues before, it worked great til this weekend. Now I'm pulling my hair out changing settings like directplay and direct stream and I unfortunately don't remember what the defaults are now. Is anyone else experiencing this? So frustrated here. Not sure if this is a result of the recent updates or not. Any help would be appreciated. I mainly just want it working on my phone again since it was the only successful way I have got live tv on a windows phone. For the Roku and computers, I have other options. Thanks!

I did some work on the Twitch channel, since it was pretty lacking in features compared to Kodi.

Extra features from default channel:
* Quality Selection
* Source quality
* Past Broadcasts/Highlights support
* Followed channels
* Search streams/channels/games
* Play subscriber-only VODs.

Tested on:
* PMS Window and Linux
* PHT Windows 8.1, Windows 10
* Android
* iOS
* Plex Media Player

Channel Preferences:
see https://github.com/coryo/TwitchMod.bundle/blob/master/README.md

Issues:
* Different clients handle quality selection differently.
* Plex for iOS v4 doesn't have inputDirectoryObjects so you cant search.
* Plex Web Client doesn't play streams on certain browsers on certain OSes.
* Plex Web Client doesn't have inputDirectoryObjects so you cant search.

Installation:
get the zip, extract the bundle to the PMS Plug-ins folder, and rename it to TwitchMod.bundle
