What is Common Sense Media?

Common Sense Media is a metadata agent for Plex Media Server that adds their recommended age as content rating. It will optionally add a short description as tagline and the Common Sense movie review to reviews.

Having problems with Primewire channel (vidzi.tv stream). Has there been an update with the developers in github? I do not see any of the previous discussions on this forum.

If you are having the problem, that national characters in your subtitles, that are not embedded in the movie, but either downloaded by yourself and put next to the movie (Sidecar SRT) or a subtitle automatically fetched by the  Open-Subtitle Agent, are displayed as garbage, then this Agent might be the answer for you!

In short, it'll make sure, that your subtitle files are encoded in utf-8, so national character-sets doesn't show as garbage in the players

I would not be here in this forum if my credentials were incorrect. Is there some problem today?
One of my computers is already logged to Webtools but the contents of my UAS are showing an empty page.

Somehow I have 2 Plug-ins folders in my directory. (Plug-ins-f54242b6b and Plug-ins). Plex saying the folder is named Plug-ins but I can't paste my SRT2UTF-8.bundle there. When I re-open my Plex it's auto deleting the SRT2UTF-8.bundle. No problem pasting other bundles there thou... Any idea how can I solve this? Thank you.

I did some work on the Twitch channel, since it was pretty lacking in features compared to Kodi.

Issues:
* Different clients handle quality selection differently.

Known issues:

• Since there is no way to give user feedback about the current progress of the background downloading, when pressing the final play button, be a bit patient. You can also try pressing play again as most client tend to have an internal timeout.

I've been trying to watch TwitchMod streams on my LG TV and it worked for about the first week but now it's not.

Whenever I load any stream, I just get a black screen with the overlay. After a few minutes it comes back with "video did not start playing in time" error. I can sort of get the stream to work if I pause it, fast forward back and then unpause but it seems that plex constantly (almost every 2 seconds) puts the overlay back up(I assume that's the UI with the pause button and such) and any attempt to pause or fastforward kicks me back to twitchmods menu.

I've also noticed that turning off Direct Play loads the stream for a second before kicking me back to the menu.

Is there anyway I can fix this? I've installed the latest version of plex on both my TV and PC.

Filmon had always worked spectacularly in Plex until recent months. I purchased a Filmon subscription because I live in Italy and love to watch English TV. Recently every time I play on my Samsung TV (6710 2012 with plex version 2007) it plays for a while maybe minutes , stutters and stops and I get the error response " There seems to be a problem" "A network error occurred". This also started happening on my laptop so I turned off The "prefer HD" setting and it now works well on my laptop but not on my TV. Is there some kid of transcoding problem? Are my settings wrong? I have no Idea what has changed!

LiveTVH provides live TV streaming for Plex via Tvheadend, including metadata from Tvheadend's EPG, theTVDB, and The Movie DB.

After running into a few issues with the existing Tvheadend channels (streaming to iOS, etc), developing a new plugin was a good excuse to play around with Python and the channel framework. I'm not a developer by trade so feedback is appreciated!

  • Note that there is a specific sequence to get logs from Plex Web: enable debug logging, reproduce the issue, view and collect the logs, then disable logging as the final step (disabling the logging instantly wipes the logs).

Thought I would start a new thread due to recent changes regarding CBC channel. To draw attention to issue.

The CBC channel TV section is returning no results.
Please look into a fix.( I already reported the issue on github)

FYI the issue is cause by these site changes.
Recently all of the TV have now moved to watch.cb.ca exclusively.
Sports , news, and radio will stay on cbc.ca
Kids is currently on both but soon only be on watch.cbc.ca

If your Android device does not work and gets the error, "An error occured while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app." do the following:

On your Plex server, find the file Android.xml and change the following line:
<VideoProfile protocol="hls" container="mpegts" codec="h264" audioCodec="aac" context="streaming" />

to

<VideoProfile protocol="hls" container="mpegts" codec="h264" audioCodec="mp3" context="streaming" />

Restart your Plex server. Please be aware this may break other transcoding (it did for me).

I am setting up a firewall on my server. I allow the connections specified in the support article.
Accessing the media on the Plex server works, but plugin channels do not (iplayer, youtubetv). Accessing the channel produces "This channel is not responding". When i disable the firewall, the channels work as expected.

Which additional ports should be allowed through for channels to work?

I installed the WebTools app but when I click on it, it only shows a text saying "To acces this channel, open one of the URLs below etc. etc.", see attachment "Start screen.png" . There are 2 URLs indeed but when I click on either one of them I get the Plex screen where I can choose the preferred user. When I click on my user account I end up in the same page again (again see attachment "Start screen.png").

I also checked the settings but don't see anything that could help (attachment "WebTools settings.png")
I tried to add a directory in the blank field (Base URL field). The directory used was /WebTools. But nothing changed, it only took ages to save this setting.

Further on, on this page "https://github.com/ukdtom/ExportTools.bundle/wiki/Configuration" something's mentioned about "Deselect the setting for "Auto Select Export path to match the section exported" but I can't find that setting.

Could this have something to do with the fact that there are different users?

Hey everyone,
Early January I gave the very talented Sander a challenge, and we worked a week on it. The challenge was to try and create a Dreambox plugin which I could use in my setup which would fetch my cousins dreambox content.
I am pleased to say that we have a working first draft which you guys can tryout if you want to.

It uses the raw stream at a specific IP, but we also tried to build in support for having a transcoder at a seperate address in case people outside your network wants to view, but has limited bandwidth.

Go into the plugin, choose preferences. In the host field you add the IP address to your dreambox. In the "web interface port" you add the port which the web interface uses. This plugin uses the web interface to change channels. The field called "Streaming video port" should contain the port from which you stream transcoded material (if any).

Maybe in the future Sander will have time to help me flesh this out, but for now this is what exists. Let me know how it works for you guys.


Limitations: This plugin is only tested with the web interface that is called Enigma Web Interface - Pli Edition. Until more development is done to support the Dreambox API, no other web interface will work I believe.
