as for now, sounds like I should not upgrade DSM to the major new version 6.1, too severe changes in DSM to be a guinea pig and avoiding hassle. "Never touch a running system" so to speak

Also in the DSM 6.1 readme:
"Due to infrastructure update, packages will need re-initialization after upgrading to DSM 6.1. The process will occupy a higher CPU usage and can take up to an hour depending on the number of packages installed."

What does this mean for a big Plex library?

Anyone wants to share their thoughts or even experience with DSM 6.1 using Plex, PlexPy & Comm. pythton 2.7 (needed by PlexPy). Any Feedbacks well appreciated!

First off, thank you to Krustyreturns for his help with this project and also his on going development of ServerWMC which is allowing us to integrate Windows Media Center's LiveTV functionality with Plex.

This channel is in it very early Alpha stages.  Currently it will only work with a TV tuner that has DLNA capabilities such as the HDHomeRun Prime.

This was Developed on Windows 8.1.

Server OS Tested : Windows 8.1, Synology(Thanks Rog), QNAP(Thanks Breezy)

Clients Tested : Plex Home Theater, Plex Web, Roku 3,Plex Android, Plex Samsung, Plex iOS

Networks: Tested on LAN, WiFi, and over 4G network on Android. (This means successful streaming of LiveTv from your home to anywhere in the world as long as you have a decent cell connection.)

Settings in wmc2plex channel:

serverwmcip - put in the ip of your machine running ServerWMC.  Default is localhost.

serverwmc_port - If you changed the port when ServerWMC was installed put that in.  Default is 9080.

server_wmc_epg_days - This will dictate how many days of EPG (guide) info to get.  default is 7.  This is more for future use as in its current state it only shows what is now playing on the channels.

debug_level - If you are having trouble please change this to Verbose, restart Plex and recreate the issue.  Submit the logs.  Otherwise, default is normal but can be turned to none.

Again, thank you to Krustyreturns and other who have helped with this project.  I will release another Alpha build when the next phase is complete.

I got an error on webinterface tells me "decoding crash" or similair.
My Samsung TV talls me "Cant fid the stream"

Logs ataced

After having several problems with my computer, I had to do a lot of cleaning of files. Although I didn't have any problems with Plex, after doing the cleaning, Plex Server wouldn't start. I reloaded Plex and the server is good but now all bundles post message "The channel is not responding". I've read posts for about 4 hours and everything I've checked or tried has failed. I shut down and restarted the server several times and reloaded bundles but no success. Can someone point me in the right direction?

What is going on with NBC? A daily show I watch has nothing since late in May. Also Americas Got Talent has no new shows. Just season 11 when it is now season 12.

This agent scrapes from Audible.com. It uses the Album Artist as the books Author and uses the Album Title as the Book Title. All audio files will need to be tagged correctly in order for this thing to do it's job. You can manually search for each book if you don't have them tagged ahead of time.

This option allows you to manually select which site you're going to scrape. If this is not checked, the language you selected for
the library, or the language selected for a manual match will be used to select which site to scrape from.

Select Audible site to use:
This option is ignored if the above box is not checked.

Tips for greatest success:

Set "Album" tag in audio file as the book title
Set "Artist" tag in audio file as the book author
None of the other tags really matter for searching and matching.
Manual 'match' will use the Author/Artist field if it's present, but you cannot enter it manually. Only the title.
Make sure all the tracks have the same artist and album.
Store each in a folder

Notes:

-Title data in parens () such as (Unabridged) is automatically removed before search. I've found this improves the results and matching.

-Currently, I don't have a great source for author data. What populates now (if any) is being done automatically from last.fm. You're welcome to go add some data there. This was kind of a happy accident.

-The first two genre tags show up in the top right when viewing the album/book. Genre tags are listed in the following order: Series [if exists], Narrator(s), Genre.

-You can filter by the various tags that are added to each book. Be it author, series, narrator, etc.

Is there any way the PLEX media server can access TV shows recorded on a Panasonic Blue-ray disc recorder? The BD recorder can operate as a DNLA server and is connected to the same wireless network as the PLEX media server running under macOS Sierra 1.12.6. The PLEX server does not 'find' the BD recorder.
Is there anything I need to do or have completely misunderstood what is possible? Sorry if I am asking a stupid question but I am a complete newcomer to Plex.

Hi,

currently I am thinking about a library without any thumbnails esp. for sport recordings. Unfortunately Plex always generates thumbnails. Therefore I have the following idea: Why not adding an agent which copies a static image to each movie found without adding it manually?

Just found this plugin, wow ! Really want this to work, but can't get any response from CP running on Synology NAS. Have CP set with no user name or password, it's up and running, currently open in browser, but I get 'No Response' when trying to log in with the plugin.

What is Trailer Addict?

Trailer Addict is a metadata agent for Plex Media Server that tries to find trailers, interviews and behind the scenes videos for your movie library.

Requirements

A Plex movie library with the Plex Movie agent or The Movie Database agent set as primary agent.

How do I install Trailer Addict?

You can install Trailer Addict:

• From within the Unsupported AppStore, or:
• Manually: See the support article "How do I manually install a channel?" over at the Plex support website.

After installation:

1. Activate the agent in Settings > Server > Agents.
2. Use the Refresh All option on your library to let the agent collect and add trailers.

Limitations and Known Issues

• Due to not being able to grab certain data directly I had to build a small API that converts IMDb ids to Trailer Addict ids. This API is still a bit slow due to a number of http requests it has to do. Lots of requests are cached, so the more the agent gets used, the faster it will become.
• The source website does not offer preview images for the videos.

UAS V1 compared to V2:

The main differences between the two versions are:

• V1 is no longer working, and disabled on GitHub
• V2 interface is not limited to a regular channel interface, but is a responsive interface, that also works from mobile devices
• V2 does not automatically update outdated plugins. You have to initiate that from within the UAS V2 interface

For the past two weeks it would only play the first segment; then hang.

This week it does not even play at all. On Roku interface and web.

1. User goes to http://dcstewieg.no-ip.org/plex-facebook
   
2. A Facebook login is provided to give access
   
3. If access is granted, an authentication token is received from Facebook
   
4. A temporary 6 digit alphanumeric code is generated and stored on my server with a reference to the token
   
5. User enters the code in the plug-in, which then retrieves the token from my server
   
6. Authentication is complete, my server will not be accessed again (unless the user's Facebook password is changed, which invalidates the token and would require a new code)
   
7. The token is used in all future calls to the Facebook Graph API
