Live Streams Channel

Hi, I've noticed that if you change the .m3u8 link within the Al-Jazeera plugin, you can access different streams (E.g. BBC News Live, France24..etc). I'm not a coder but perhaps the community would benefit from a generic Channel plugin ..say 'LiveTV'.. where users could enter their own links either though a preference pane or via an 'edit' in the .bundle itself. There are so many live stream links I could add immediately. I imagine it would also simplify the custom channel business where some plugins are not always updated as sites change. Using a template that allows users to manually add links could result in a fast growing live tv channel, where the only update would be to that single plugin(if needed) and channels would be contained within, and governed by the individual user. I imagine people would eventually post their custom link-files with dozens of working streams. For instance, "Working_News_streams_DEC01.xml".

I'm fully ready to lend my time to this, but lack the skills to pull it off properly. Anyone willing to give it a go? Is there something like this already in the works that I'm not aware of?
