I tried two players (samsung smart tv hub & Android mobile) but none of these players were able to find any subtitles when using the TV4 Play channel. Does anyone know how to enable subtitles or does the TV4 plugin needs to be updated?

Can anybody come up with a solution?

I'm cross posting so I apologize if I piss off some people and break some rules but,

Good chance this has already been asked a million times, but I have been trying to grow my Plex library.

Rip all CD's and donate/toss jewel cases then cd's all get put on spindle that holds burnable cd's
Rip my movie collection and have it in digital form because I no longer have a DVD player besides Computer's
Automatically convert recorded shows from Tablo and transfer them to Plex.
Record shows via Playon and put those recordings in Plex

So I am looking for recording off a channel, or other legal ways people get content?

I'm having some issues playing shows on FOX.
- If I try using the web app in Firefox I get "AES decryption not supported..."
- If I try using PHT on my computer(Win10) I get "Unable to play media - Please check media exists"
- If I try using the Plex app on my Android, it plays just fine.

I would really just like FOX to be able to play the shows using PHT.
Whats funny is that when I first install PHT I was able to watch one show on FOX. Then I go to play another and get the error message. I completely uninstalled PHT and installed again. Again, I was able to play one episode and then would get the error message again. I don't want to have to uninstall PHT every time I want to watch an episode on FOX.

My Plex server is running on Synology DSM with an intel CPU G3258. I'm the only person using it. Not sharing it with anyone.
Also, I am using a proxy since I am currently outside the US. But it works on my android just fine.
Not sure if this would play a part in it. The proxy is running on my Synology NAS.

I don't have problems watching other channels on my PHT(except ABC/NBC because its not supported, but that's another issue).

Is there any thoughts to why this is an issue? Thanks!

As of yesterday, all attempts to play videos on the Vimeo channel fail. Pop-up message "Uh-oh! Couldn't create the playback session for this item." All other video channels are working fine.

I was unable to find a plugin that would allow me to play custom streams, so after days of learning Python, with help of shopgirl284, Mikedm139 and examples found on this forum, I created my first Plex plugin; I present You Plex plugin that plays network streams (a.k.a. IPTV) from a M3U playlist:

Included sample playlist is provided by MOCAICO with over 4000 channels, but it might be outdated and too big for some clients to handle, it is advised to trim it down to a few hundred channels, please read post #287 for more info. Also sergrusur started a new Spanish forum for IPTV related stuff, it takes some time and patience to register and change language to English there but it is doable, and it has many IPTV streams, check post #217 and further for more information. Also was192 has a whole blog dedicated to IPTV channels lists, check it out, and user isawred2 shared very nice playlist, head to post #275 while it is still available. You can find more playlists scattered along this thread (like posts #388, #399, #407, #417, #457, #500, #501 and so on) or just google for them.

At the moment plugin supports HTTP and RTSP streaming protocols, RTMP also works with some limitations, and MMS did not work for me on any device, some users report that it works in Android and Plex Web. Please keep in mind that this plugin does not actually play videos by itself, it only passes links to Plex in a format understandable to Plex and the playback is done by Plex client, and it is a known fact that Plex Media Server does not transcode live streams so you might need a third party transcoder like VODServer if client is unable to transcode streams by itself, please read post #97 (especially Apple TV owners) and compatibility section of readme file for more information.

One more thing, Plex Home Theater, the re-branded Plex Media Center, does not play live streams at all, in any way known to me, so if You want to use this plugin on PC or Mac, You need the old version of Plex Media Center; please read readme file for further indormation.

If plugin does not work of you don't like it or don't like Plex, but still want to watch IPTV on your TV or other device, You can check post #194 for alternative solutions, but in any way please consider making a small donation if I was of any help for You.

And instead of summary, if someone of more experienced developers could spare a few minutes to test and review my plugin I would be more than grateful, please help me perfect it to be suitable for the App Store.

What has changed? basically allot and not so much. Allot of the internals have been redone to a working a state for me.
- Removed all the Plexhelperplus stuff. The binary is still included but not used anymore since quitting plex while trying to start an emulator didn't work. Instead plex is minimized.
- Rom scanning is done recursively now
- Made feedback somewhat working
- Split the preference and language stuff into the appropriate files allowing for translations.
- Made the grabber for MAME selectable
- Made location for emu and roms a preference item, they no longer need to be in the same dir.
- Changed the Gaintbomb grabber to get info for the same game of different hardware if we don't find a proper match.
- Changed the name matching for the grabbers to allow better matching. ( If a game isn't found now, your name either is bogus or giant bomb doesn't have info for it )
- Made the location for roms and emulators a preference item. They are not linked anymore so you can put both where you want them.

What's been added:
- Preference menu
- Favorite list support
- Search menu's
- Added controller preview image for mame
- Menu to launch a random game
- Optional splitting of arcade and console lists
- Minted mamelist support so only those roms get scanned that actually work
- Added option to exclude dirs from being scanned.
- Added list of known filetypes so we don't pick up .txt files anymore for example
- Added scanner for ProgettoEmma, an alternative for MAWS which is currently down. ( Since this is an italian site the contents are pulled through bing translation api )
- Zipfile support for all emulators

The mamelist support is done through a mamelist.csv file which is an extraction of "Romlister". A windows program that combines a full mame.xml file with controls.xml, catver.ini and nplayers.ini. From this merged list you export the things you want. Categories to export are "Romname, # of buttons, Controls, # players, Category, Year, Manufacturer and Orientation". You always have to select those as the database has 8 columns for it. The list that is included is for 0.144u6 with only working, non clones and no samples.

Things to know:
- Due to the way plex works, some changes aren't instant visually. For example enabling the favorite list support in preferences won't show up until the next time you start Plex. ( You actually have to quit it and relaunch because it caches the main menu ). This is especially annoying when you set this up for the first time. After scanning and adding roms, if the main menu structure should change, it won't. Restart Plex for the changes to become apparent.
- Each system has it's own helper file. It's found inside the bundle in Content/Helpers/*system*.sh. This is responsible for launching the emulator and making sure plex gets minimized and the emulator stays in front. If you wish to change the emulator to a different one, open the systems.json file in the Resource/json directory. It lists all systems with their emulator.

Prerequisites:
- A mac ( this won't work on windows due to bash scripting )
- PMS + frontend must run on the same system
- OSX 10.6 or above

I don't offer support:
- on the working of emulators besides starting and stopping it.
- configuring a controller to use with all emulators, i use controllermate for it, a sample configuration is also included

What todo if something doesn't work like expected:
- Check the console log! All relevant info gets logged there and is a big help.

What todo in case of:
- a game doesn't get scanned at all: check if the rom is not in an excluded dir. You set the correct location to the rom folders in preferences. The extension of the file is in allowed list. Check the Resource/json/emulator.json file inside the bundle, if the file extension for the emulator is not in there, simply add it and rescan.
- an emulator doesn't launch: Check preferences for the correct location of the emulators.
- the mame roms scanning doesn't return results: if you enabled the mamelist option in preferences, make sure you also imported the list through the maintenance menu. With an empty db, there are no games and none get scanned. Or to go without, just disable it in the preferences and all roms get scanned no matter what.

Howto install:
- Place the "Game Launcher.bundle" in "~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plugins"
- Place the "SDL.Framework" dir in "/System/Library/Framework" ( This is not a requirement of the plugin, but some emulators depend on it )
- Place the Roms folder where you want them and point to it in preferences
- Place the Emulators folder where you want them and point to it in preferences

Howto upgrade:
- Replace the "Game Launcher.bundle" file
- Update the emulator bundle if appropriate
- Most probably i have made changes to the database tables over time, if this thing goes south after an bundle update, you will have to remove
the sqlite db in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plugin Support/Databases/com.plexapp.gamelauncher.db
restart PMS after removing it and a new one will be created automatically.

Howto get help:
- Ask! but i don't have a crystal bowl so telling it "just doesn't work" won't get you anywhere. There are a couple of things that are really helpful like what the
behavior of the plugin is, and what you expect it to be. For instance, if a game doesn't start, tell what the file extension is your trying and to which system it
belongs. It makes finding bugs allot easier. No console log means no help since it contains all relevant info to troubleshoot a not working setup.

The emulator bundle is mainly for x64 only. If you need x86 compatible stuff, you have to find it yourself or compile from scratch.
This is working for me on osx 10.6.8 with PMS 0.9.5.2 and Laika as frontend. Also tested on Lion and didn't find any problems.

Not getting any response on the LG Medialink thread so thought I'd try here. BBC iPlayer channel won't play any content on my LG WebOS smart TV, it just times out. ITV is OK and both play fine on the server, so it's only BBC iPlayer on the LG that is the problem.

For instance, the "Lifetime" channel. It show icons for each show, you drill down to see the episodes and there are none, why? I know that the content is there because the Lifetime app for iPad shows that there is content for that show. I deleted about 8 channels because there is zero content in any of them. If they don't work, pull them.

I have managed to get webtools up and running on my beloved QNAP. everything works great...like going to subtitle managment and browsing the subtitles i have for each episodes into my TV Shows Folder

But the problem, I can not select any subtitle and therefore I can not delete any subtitles !!!

Please help me

Is it possible to make a Groove Channel/App?

The past few days my LogoTV app folder is empty. Just a few days ago it had lots of content. Is this a Plex or Logo problem? Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm looking to create a channel plugin for the NHK World Live stream. Anyone want to help with this or point me in the direction of how to make it myself?

DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU SHARE CHANNELS WITH USERS There is now some support for this. Read on brave soul.

What is it?
UASViewer is a Plex Channel that gives you a user interface inside Plex for the Unsupported App Store V2. It's similar to the old UAS plugin in look and feel but it runs on the new hosted back end created by the WebTools 2.X team.

It's currently in a state of early development and is quite buggy. If you run into issues please also post a log file so I can help determine what is going on. Currently one can only browse and install chanels. To uninstall channels you'll need to go use the WebTools UI until I build this into the UASViewer. Please be aware the due to how the channel system works if you share channels with users they will have full access to install channels. The channel does have a toggle in the preferences to "lock" the channel. When this is toggled nobody can access the menu or install/uninstall channels. Only an admin can edit this preference.

Stick to the official releases that I've tagged. The master branch is currently the only branch and it's not always a functional set of code. As I move to a more stable release to build off of I'll be transitioning to a dev branch and master will coincide with the current release code.

It also lists a user stations separately and even custom streams (user added to his tunein account)
