[REQ]Ideas...TNT, TBS, FX, USA Network, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Syfy Network, Bravo, and others

$

This is is going to be quite a long request list. Now I would like to set a disclaimer here that these are more of ideas than requests. the reason why I am bringing attention to these channels is because there are a bunch of outdated broken sources on github from around 2011-2014 and as you probably know, websites change their parsing codes within that much time. and I would like a developer to make new versions of a lot of these plugins. And I also have some new ideas for plugins that anybody could take. So here are the Requests (or ideas as I call them because that is what they are)

  1. TNT
  2. TBS
  3. FXNow
  4. USA Network
  5. Cartoon Network
  6. Disney Jr.
  7. Adult Swim
  8. Syfy Network
  9. Bravo
  10. AMC
  11. E!
  12. VH1
  13. Discovery Channel US
  14. Animal Planet
  15. TLC
  16. PlayOn Media Server Interface
  17. Netflix
  18. Hulu
  19. ESPN3
  20. Youtube
  21. SoundCloud
  22. Amazon Prime Video
  23. Vudu
  24. Yahoo View
  25. HBO Now
  26. HBO Go
  27. MaxGo
  28. DirecTV Now
  29. TruTV
  30. Veoh

Now I know Discovery Channel has been talked about on https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/4711/discovery-channel-and-history-channel/p7/ However, they are suggesting that because you have to sign in with a TV provider, a lot of the episodes on TLC or Discovery don't show up. And i think that is where a lot of these plugins broke. Is there anyway to code the TV provider into a setting into python's scripting language so you can set a TV provider via a settings icon? right next to the red x icon where you can remove a plugin to kind of get around the TV provider garbage? is that possible? If not, you can just lock this thread because all of these channels require a TV provider. I know Netflix or Hulu and things like that might be possible if you add sign in information kind of like they did with pandora and spotify. but that is just a solid maybe. I also know that a lot of these channels if they do end up getting made (which tbh is going to take a lot of developers) more than likely most of these plugins if not all of them are probably going to end up on the UAS. That's all for now.

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody would be interested and willing to make a channel plug-in for this site http://www.tubitv.com/

Hey Tubi TV Fan:[/size]

You asked and we responded . . . the unveiling of our Tubi TV Web and iOS mobile beta apps is now here.[/size]

Now you can enjoy the largest streaming library of free Movies and TV Shows on your desktop, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, as well as on your Tubi TV Connected TV app.   [/size]

it's similar to Crackle and has a lot of (all legal) content with a mix of movies and tv that range from big name hits like Spaced and Father Ted to relatively unknown things. It already has quite a lot of content and is supposedly going to keep growing until it has the largest amount of free, legal content tubitv wants to take on crackle with free movies and tv shows. It has been on Roku and a few other platforms for a while now but they have just launched the online site and I think it would be a good addition to Plex.

Thank you

[REL] Trailer Addict Metadata Agent

Trailer Addict

image

What is Trailer Addict?

Trailer Addict is a metadata agent for Plex Media Server that tries to find trailers, interviews and behind the scenes videos for your movie library.

Requirements

A Plex movie library with the Plex Movie agent or The Movie Database agent set as primary agent.

How do I install Trailer Addict?

You can install Trailer Addict:

After installation:

  1. Activate the agent in Settings > Server > Agents.
  2. Use the Refresh All option on your library to let the agent collect and add trailers.

Where do I download Trailer Addict?

If you want to install the agent manually or if you are interested in the source code, you can download the latest copy of the agent from Github: releases

Limitations and Known Issues

  • Due to not being able to grab certain data directly I had to build a small API that converts IMDb ids to Trailer Addict ids. This API is still a bit slow due to a number of http requests it has to do. Lots of requests are cached, so the more the agent gets used, the faster it will become.

Where do I report issues?

Create an issue on Github and add as much information as possible:

  • Plex Media Server version
  • Primary agent and order of any secondary agents
  • Log files, com.plexapp.agents.traileraddict.log

[REL] Request Channel

Request Channel

So I wanted to let my users request movies and TV Shows to be added to my server, but I didn't want to install another service so I made a Plex Channel for it. Plex Channel Development isn't the greatest but I think it works well enough.

You can find the bundle on Github at:
https://github.com/ngovil21/RequestChannel.bundle

Features:

  • Allow users to search OpenMovieDatabase, TheMovieDatabase, TVDB for movies and tv shows, retrieving summaries and posters.
  • Manage the requests from users in one central location
  • Couchpotato and Sonarr support is integrated for automation. New: Manage Sonarr shows from within the plugin.
  • Pushbullet, Pushover, Email support is also included for notifications whenever a new request is made.

This will be a beta release so it may not be completely stable yet.

I have only tested this with PlexWeb and Android, so there may be more bugs on other platforms. Sometimes Plex won't want to show posters so you might have to manually change from list to another view format. Also in PlexWeb when entering in input, you have to use the searchbar, a new textbox won't pop up. On other platforms there you click the link and a box should pop up. The default Pushover key will have a limit of 7,000 hits per month, if you want to avoid this, you can use your own Pushover keys.

Let me know if there are bugs and feel free to fork the project on GitHub. If anyone would like to create some more icons that would be great as well.

* Note: Sharing Channels is currently a PlexPass only feature. See the following link on how to share channels

[REL] IPTV.bundle - plug-in that plays IPTV streams from a M3U playlist

2016-03-21 Update: Now with EPG!

I was unable to find a plugin that would allow me to play custom streams, so after days of learning Python, with help of shopgirl284Mikedm139 and examples found on this forum, I created my first Plex plugin; I present You Plex plugin that plays network streams (a.k.a. IPTV) from a M3U playlist:

https://github.com/Cigaras/IPTV.bundle

Also available in Unsupported AppStore V2

OneTechGenius also made a video guide on how to set up various Plex channels including this one, You can find it on Youtube, a written version is also available.

Included sample playlist is outdated. You can find some playlists scattered along this thread (like posts #388, #399#407, #417#457#500#501 and so on) or just google for them.

At the moment plugin supports HTTP and RTSP streaming protocols, RTMP also works with some limitations, and MMS did not work for me on any device, some users report that it works in Android and Plex Web.

Please keep in mind that this plugin does not actually play videos by itself, it only passes links to Plex in a format understandable to Plex and the playback is done by Plex client, and it is a known fact that Plex Media Server does not transcode live streams so you might need a third party transcoder like VODServer if client is unable to transcode streams by itself, please read post #97 (especially Apple TV owners) and compatibility section of readme file for more information.

If plugin does not work for You or You don't like it or don't like Plex, but still want to watch IPTV on your Smart TV or other device, You can check post #194 for alternative solutions, but in any way please consider making a small donation if I was of any help for You.

And instead of summary, if someone of more experienced developers could spare a few minutes to test and review my plugin I would be more than grateful, please help me perfect it to be suitable for the App Store.

Features:

  • TV Shows and Movies browsing based on trakt.tv using full metadata
  • Torrents are extracted from EZTV and KickassTorrents
  • Allows to keep downloaded files after viewing (check Preferences page)
  • Tested working on Plex Home Theather, Plex Web, Roku, PS4, iOS and Android clients.

Installation:

Updating:

  • Handled by the channel's own update system

Known issues:

  • Since there is no way to give user feedback about the current progress of the background downloading, when pressing the final play button, be a bit patient. You can also try pressing play again as most client tend to have an internal timeout.
  • No subtitles yet as channels don't support subtitles yet.

You can use this thread to report issues but the GitHub repository would be a better place. Also, pull requests for bug-fixing and new features are always welcome. Same goes for donations  :)

Enjoy!

[REL] PornHub (XXX)

I've created a channel to view videos hosted on PornHub.

Features:

  • Browse videos with various sort options (newest, most viewed, etc)
  • Categories
  • Channels
  • Porn Stars
  • Playlists
  • Members
  • Search

This channel is available in the Unsupported App Store v2. You can also download the bundle from GitHub to install manually.

Side story: I forked this from the original PornHub channel which stopped working long ago. I've created a pull request with all of my changes, but it seems like the original author hasn't been active on GitHub in 5 years, so I'm not holding my breath. If by some crazy happenstance the original author reads this (or someone knows them), I'd love to have you accept my pull request and hopefully even make me a contributor on the original repo. Until then, I'll be maintaining my fork. If enough time goes by, I might contact GitHub to remove me from "forked" status and have it as it's own stand-alone repo. Who knows. Anyways, enjoy the channel.

Also credit to @Nosinden for the idea to have a video sub-menu where you can see what porn stars are in the video, etc. Will be updating that with thumbnails eventually, much like his SpankBang channel. That dude makes good channels.

Home Page - latest version - Donate btc: 1JJD5i4jL5qmbMKCy1sNVGgQzx1Jh37rFH

ComicReader is a Plex Channel that allows you to serve comic book archives that are stored on your server.

Currently it supports CBZ, CBR, and CB7 comic archives. CBZ is supported natively, while CBR and CB7 require unrar and 7zip. See the Readme on github for details.

The channel doesn't use a database or metadata, it just acts like a file browser that starts at the directory you specify in the channels preferences.

Several Plex channels not showing up

Hi all, I have a problem with several Plex channels not showing up, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I'm running Plex on a Mac.

The channels are:

WebTools
FMovies
SubZero
UnSupported Services

All of them used to work, no more.

Yesterday I did a manual reset of WebTools, which worked for a while (as described here), but then it stopped working and nothing I do seems to make it better...

I'm attaching the Plex Server logs.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

I have Webtools extracted.

What do I do now? I even have it on my TV screen. On the TV it says I have to open the URL in a new browser. In my files I have Contents and other files.. I just don't know where to go from there. I know I probably sound stupid but it's confusing to me. Can anybody help?

Can someone make a Talkstream channel plugin?

The talkstream website (https://www.talkstreamlive.com/) has a constantly updating assortment of talkshows (radio-based, audio only, streamed online) and there are shows I would like to stream to my television. Is this possible? Anyone good at channel design think this would make a good channel?

Is it possible to get the iPlayer channel to show results in the Categories section - esp Films?

After some fiddling about, and having recently reinstalled RasPlex on a Pi 3 connected to my TV, I can use the iPlayer channel to see what I've missed on regular TV - BBC One, BBC Two, etc.

But when I click on the Categories, then Films, no results are returned - and the same is true for all the other Categories I've tried.

Those categories work fine in a web browser on my main computer.

Is there some limitation in the iPlayer channel for Plex that stops them showing? Or anything I can do to get results to show for Films, in particular?

Plex server v1.12.3.4803, client Rasplex v1.8.0.148-573b6d73. Don't know how to check the version of the iPlayer channel plugin, nor how to update it if it is outdated.

I purchase movies and shows through multiple sites because of price discounts and so on. That said, sometimes I forget where i purchased what. It would be great if I could add a channel or so that combines all my purchases and therefore is searchable through Plex. I understand that Plex might not be able to play them due to the DRM build in but at least maybe open the appropriate app and go straight to the movie? I also talking about purchased Movies and shows only, not rented or being able to buy but already owned.

I am using Plex with an Apple TV 4K device to watch past ("On Demand") network programs. I am using most of the "safe" network plug-ins (channels), and they have been working well. Lately, for about 10 days- 2 weeks, I have been getting an error message ("Couldn't create the playback session for this item") when I try to play network shows. Can anyone help me to solve this? Thanks.

Introduction

This plug-in was created for personal usage stream from my HDHomeRun PRIME to Roku 3. This allows up to 3 TV streams to be viewed by 3 different clients simultaneously. Due to Plex limitations with live streams, I  wouldn't recommend buying a HDHomeRun device solely to run with Plex and this Plug In. This plug-in should work with DLNA-enabled HDHomeRun (PRIME, PLUS, DUAL Gen 4).
