Unsupported AppStore V2 (as in totally unsupported)

Please read this before posting a question

About:

The Unsupported Appstore (UAS) is a plugin running under the WebTools bundle, and is meant to ease the process of finding, downloading, installing, updating and (if need be) uninstalling unsupported Plex plugins.

Please note that the plugins available here-in are not supported by the Plex Media Server "Plex Online" store for a reason (possibly more than one reason). They may be unstable, unfinished, or provide access to content which may be offensive. If you are having trouble with any of the plugins available through this app, please go to the respective plugin's support thread.

The authors of the Unsupported Appstore take no responsibility for the content/stability/suitability of the contained plugins and any complaints or requests for support in relation to specific plugins will be ignored.

UAS V1 compared to V2:

The main differences between the two versions are:

  • V1 is no longer working, and disabled on GitHub
  • V2 interface is not limited to a regular channel interface, but is a responsive interface, that also works from mobile devices
  • V2 does not automatically update outdated plugins. You have to initiate that from within the UAS V2 interface

What is the meaning of this thread?

This thread is for handling support for the UAS2 itself, and NOT for any of the plugin's that get's installed with it.
So...Simply put....

  • If the plugin installed, then go to the plugin support thread for questions! (Also if it simply isn't working for you)
  • If a plugin failed to install, then continue in this thread
  • If the plugin can't be uninstalled, then please go ahead, and post here
  • If a plugin is missing here, then go to the plugin support thread, and ask the author to add it
  • If this is regarding other plugin's to WebTools, or WebTools itself, go to the WebTools thread

To find a plugin/channel support thread, look here

Credits

A huge thanks goes out to mikedm139, that came up with the original idea of the UAS, and more or less defined how to do this. A huge amount of the code came straight from his work

Source Code

To get the source code, please visit the WebTools Thread, since it's a part of that

Developers Only

If you are a developer, and want your work added to the new UAS, or want to make changes to some of your work already there, or sadly removed from the UAS :-(, please visit the UAS2Res

Installation:

To install WebTools, which contains the UAS plugin, please visit the WebTools Thread, and after that do return here, if you are having issues with a UAS plugin

User guide:

It's with great pride, that we can announce, that one of the most dedicated Ninja's up here ( @trumpy81 ) has made a user guide, to the benefits of us all. Currently, you can find the link to it here:
User Guide
And in the next release, it'll be fully integrated into WebTools

Usage:

To use UAS, browse to <"Your-PMS-IP-Address":33400>
(Use the above address only if you're using the defaults, that can be changed if needed, and if so, visit the WebTools Thread once more)

After doing so, you should see a screen like:

After you have logged in, you are presented with the main screen, where among the modules you will find the "Unsupported AppStore"

Then, when clicking on the UAS link, you should see:

And the buttons and functions are all explained on the webpage, so go ahead, install Webtools and enjoy Plex on a whole new level.

Happy Plexing! :)

READ FIRST: Guidelines for Posting Channel Issues and Questions

$
0
0

The Channel section of the forum is for questions or issues with channel plugins you have installed on Plex Media Server using the Channel Directory, UAS2, or manually from other sources like Github. Please review the following guidelines, tips, and links before posting, since it can save you time and ensure that you will receive the help and support you need most efficiently.

Plex users who are new to Plex channels should review the Plex Channels support documents, since the most common issues and questions are answered there. When posting a new topic, the support article How Do I Post on the Forum to Make Sure I Get the Best Help provides details that should be included in your post.

Make Sure You Are Using the Latest Version of Plex Media Server

Earlier version of Plex Media Server may have had issues that were fixed in later releases, so before posting an issue make sure you are using the latest public version of Plex Media Server to ensure you have all the most recent bugfixes.

Reboot Plex Media Server and Verify Internet Connection

Plex channels access online content, so you must have an Internet connection available for your Plex Media Server and every Plex Player/device you are using when using Plex channels. Before posting any issues in the Channel Forum, try rebooting your Plex Media Server and ensure that have an Internet connection to all Plex devices.

Check Website Availability

Each Plex channel accesses and plays the existing media offered by the website for which the channel is named. So, before posting an issue, make sure the website accessed by the Plex channel is working, the content you want is available on the website, and the videos you want to play will play directly from the website using a browser.

Issues with Channels from Sources other than the Channel Directory (Unsupported Channels)

Unsupported channels are often less stable, require special instructions and may even no longer be maintained or supported by its developer. Since these channels stability, support, and specifications vary so much, as the name implies, unsupported channels do not and cannot be supported by the larger volunteer channel community. Therefore, you must treat any issues with any unsupported channels individually and use the support options offered by each unsupported channel's developer to resolve any issues with each channel.

See How do I get support for unsupported channels? and the pinned topic SUPPORT: Find my Plug-In here for support for a list of known support topics for unsupported channels.

Issues with the iTunes or Aperture Channels

The iTunes and Aperture channels are not actually Plex channel plugins. They are extensions of Plex Media Server. That is why you enable them in the Plex Media Server setting instead of adding them using the Channel Directory. They are just called channels because they access online content. So any issues with the iTunes and Aperture channels must be posted to the section of the forum for Plex Media Server on your operating system or the section for the Plex player app that is having issues accessing these channels.

Plex Player App/Plex Media Server Issues

Lastly, understand that Plex channel plugins just access online content and put its data in a Plex-friendly format that each Plex player app can read. Each Plex player app must be programmed to properly read the data provided by channel plugins and decide how to best play its media based on the software of that player. Also, since no Plex player supports every format that may be available on the Internet, you must have a Plex Media Server that is configured properly and has the CPU power necessary to transcode media or channel media that is not compatible with your Plex player will not play.

The community of volunteer developers who monitor this forum only design and maintain the individual Plex channel plugins. While these volunteers are always happy to try and help, they are not Plex employees and are not involved in the development of PMS or the various Plex player apps that provide access to the content on PMS, including the Channel Directory and Plex channels.

So, if the Plex channels are working as expected, but you are having issues with a specific Plex player app displaying or playing channel content or with Plex Media Server transcoding channel media, then that is an issue that would need to be addressed by the developers of that Plex Player app or version of Plex Media Server and would need to be posted to that section of the forum.

CBS Channel won't load videos

This has been happening for 2 or 3 days, I think. I can navigate throughout the CBS channel with no problem, on Roku or Web app. But actually playing any episode seemingly tries to load forever. On the Roku, the player shows 13%, then 33%, then goes until it gives up. Web app seems to do the same. Other channels are fine.

Is anyone else seeing this?

[REL] HDGrandSlam - Plex channel interface for HDHomeRun Tuners/DVRs

$

Code:
https://github.com/jumpmanjay/HDGrandSlam.bundle

Current release:
https://github.com/jumpmanjay/HDGrandSlam.bundle/releases/tag/v1.6.2

Installation:
-Make sure you are running the latest tuner firmware (https://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=20613)
-Download the current release from GitHub (https://github.com/jumpmanjay/HDGrandSlam.bundle/archive/v1.6.2.zip).
-Unzip the release zip
-Find the location of your Plex Media Server plug-in directory (https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201106098-How-do-I-find-the-Plug-Ins-folder-)
-Rename unzipped directory to "HDGrandSlam.bundle"
-Copy the HDGrandSlam.bundle folder to your Plex Media Server plug-in directory.
-Restart Plex

What works:
-Streaming and time-shifting (pause, play, rw, ff- just don't skip past live) Live TV and recorded programs to Chrome, Windows UWP, Apple, Roku, and Android devices.

*** For Android Devices ***
If your Android device does not work and gets the error, "An error occured while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app." do the following:

On your Plex server, find the file Android.xml and change the following line:
<VideoProfile protocol="hls" container="mpegts" codec="h264" audioCodec="aac" context="streaming" />

to

<VideoProfile protocol="hls" container="mpegts" codec="h264" audioCodec="mp3" context="streaming" />

Restart your Plex server. Please be aware this may break other transcoding (it did for me).

[REL] WebTools 2.x

$

0

About:

WebTools 2.x is a collection of utilities to help with the management of your Plex Server.
This plugin is not limited to the usual channel interface. Instead, it utilizes a built-in webserver to display a responsive web interface which also works on mobile devices, allowing you to manage your Plex Server from any device.

This tool was created by Dagalufh (Frontend), omc1000 (Frontend) and Dane22 (Backend) with the beta testing from:

  • OttoKerner
  • sa2000
  • trumpy81
  • Xandi92
  • chuckpa

Currently the tools available are:

  • Logviewer
  • Subtitle Management
  • Unsupported AppStore
  • FindMedia

Logviewer

This tool allows for easy viewing of logs related to Plex and it's plugins via an easy to use web interface. It also gives you the ability to download all of the logs in a .zip file to easily send to a developer of a specific plugin.
(This includes logs of 3rd party plugins, contrary to the Log download button in Plex Web.)

Subtitle Management

The purpose of this tool is to give the user a way to manage subtitles that are not embedded.

Current features:
* View the content of a subtitle file for easier identification.
* Highlights the subtitle that is selected as active in Plex for a specific Movie or Episode
* Removal of one or more subtitles. Usage is on your own risk as this will delete files on your hard drive.

Unsupported AppStore (UAS)

This tool was originally created by mikedm139 and was one of the most popular plugins in the Plex universe. Now, this is included in WebTools 2.0, giving it an easy to use web interface that allows for quick installation/removal/update of plugins.

For more information, please visit the UnsupportedAppStore thread

FindMedia

This tool will quickly search a library, and then compare the items in the Plex database to the actually accessible media files on disk. It will then list all missing items from either the Plex Media Server database, or from your file system. This tool combines the outcome from the 3rd party plugins "Find-Missing" and "Find-Unmatched".
Find-Unmatched is due to that discontinued, and removed from UAS.

User Guide:

It's with great pride, that we can announce, that one of the most dedicated Ninja's up here ( @trumpy81 ) has made a user guide, to the benefit of us all. It's fully integrated into WebTools and can be accessed via the help menu.

Installation:

Installation of WebTools is sadly a manual process, so here's what to do:

  • Download WebTools from GitHub, and select the file named WebTools.bundle.zip.
  • Extract it, and make sure, that the extracted directory is named: WebTools.bundle, it must end with .bundle
  • Make sure that inside the extracted directory, is a directory named "Contents", and if not, you might be a directory too low or high. If so, reorganize the folders with their contents.
  • Locate the plug-in folder of your Plex Media Server. For a support article about where that is, look here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202915258-Where-is-the-Plex-Media-Server-data-directory-located-
  • Copy the organised folder from above to the plugin directory

The directory structure should look like this:

Plugins
   |_ WebTools.bundle
      |_ Contents

Now wait a couple of minutes, and then check in the channels directory to see if you have a channel named WebTools. If not, restart the Plex Media Server.

Note:

You can also use the EasyInstaller if your Plex Media Server is running on:

  • AsuStore
  • QNAP
  • Synology
  • Windows

If running Docker, this might be helpful
3rd party article about how to install
Official Wiki

If running Raspberry Pi, check out this comment:
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1368888/#Comment_1368888

Usage:

To use this plugin, just type http://<Your-PMS-IP>:33400 into your browser's address bar.
It's a good idea to bookmark it.
The initial screen will be different, depending on your PMS setup:

  • If you are signed in to Plex.tv on your PMS, you use the same credentials here as it authenticates towards Plex.tv
  • If you are not signed in to Plex.tv, and it’s your first launch, you are required to set a password to use when accessing WebTools. This can later be changed from within the tool if you need to. On all the consecutive visits to WebTools you will use that password.

After login you are presented with a list of available tools:

LogViewer

When accessing this tool it loads up the Plex Media Server log. You can then via the drop-down select the log you wish to see.
There are no extra preferences available for this tool.

Subtitle Management

When accessing this tool it fetches a list of available libraries and populates a menu at the top.
By selecting one of the libraries, the tool starts to fetch a set amount of data and presents it to you.
If it’s a TV library, you can continue moving down the tree until you hit an episode
You can then select one or more subtitles for removal, view a subtitle, or upload a new one
This tool offers some extra preferences other than the default for WebTools, refer to the built-in help file for more details

Unsupported AppStore

See separate thread about usage for this over here

Internal API

If you are a developer, and developing towards WT, then notice, that when version 3.0.0 is released, it'll be with a brand new API V3 as well. Current API will be discontinued in version 3.2.0
To see API documentation, look in Contents/Code/Docs

Sub-Zero 1.4.22.908 not showing Television library when "browse all items"

$

I have 5 libraries in my Plex, but when I "browse all items" in Sub-Zero, it only show 3. (Plex on Windows 10, 64-bit bit)

I have had Sub-zero for over a year now and it has been pretty trouble free.

I noticed that it was not finding subtitles for a show I just started watching and I finally got around to seeing what the problem was.

Turns out my "Television" library is not listed, so hasn't been adding subtitles for...I don't know how long.

Since there is no obvious permissions within the Plex library, I don't know how to re-enable Subzero to scan my TV shows again.

Any help or suggestions of where to begin the journey to correct it, would be most appreciated!

Or...have I not touched this in so long, that I've forgotten that sub-zero doesn't even do TV shows?

It has been long in the making, but here we go. Credit to Cigaras for his base that I could work on.

There is a lack of good IPTV in Plex, and our team have been trying to combat that.

PlexTips presents.. MultiPLEX. The ultimate IPTV solution in Plex. (Open Beta)

You can read more and download it here.

What makes this a worthy successor to channels like CCLoud and XTV, I hear you ask:

  • Actively updated streams constantly adding more,
  • Playlist is hosted externally, so when a link goes down, we can upload another without you needing to update the plug-in,
  • HD and SD streams, so you can watch even if your internet isn’t great,
  • Most sport channels (more coming soon),
  • All of the UK BBC Channels
  • All stream are categorized, so it stays well-organized
Works in almost every client, apart from plex web
