iPlayer video not working on Android [Phone, GoogleTV and Amazon FireTV]

I have multiple devices connected to a central server that has the iplayer channel installed and working. I know it works because its able to work with iOS devices, Web client, Kodi PlexXBMC client from local and remote locations.
I deselect DirectPlay and DirectStream to force the server to transcode, especially when I'm traveling outside of UK.
Using an android phone - Samsung Galaxy SIII, and latest android PLEX pass. I captured the attached logs. This looks like a logic bug in the apps? btw from the same location and network I'm able to use iPhone to view the same video stream and it also works when casting from iPhone to Chromecast device.
This manifests as a banner saying there is something wrong and that I should reset the app and server.
Can someone confirm this is a real issue? and how to get around it please?
